Fantasy Football Questions ??????

Question:

Ronnie,

I was wondering if you could provide any insight as to the FF value of Ricky Williams as he is going to start playing this week for Miami. I have considered trying to pick him up and dropping Rudi Johnson (CIN) who has not produced a whole lot so far. I can definitely see them giving Ricky the ball instead of Ronnie Brown near the goal line.

Response:

Ronnie Brown has had a very tough schedule to say the least (Broncos, N.Y.Jets, Panthers and Bills) especially considering he is a true rookie. In those games his carries (22-12-23-17) and the amount of offense generated his way is an indication of his importance to the overall offense. His success at first was less then moderate but what do we expect from rookies especially a dolphins rookie runningback. His success recently; however, has been better than average. 132 yards rush, 1td vs Panthers and 97 yards rush vs buffalo is better then a serviceable back.

Ricky Williams will not start yet, operative word...yet. Whether or not Ronnie Brown goes down due to an injury or play suffers in performance, Ricky will see limited action either way. If ricky shines in his stint of running, I could see a very crowded back field in miami. ither way do not drop Rudi Johnson. Rudi has sustained a minor knee injury but the extent of the injury is not feared to be too serious. He is a very good runningback and should be started every week short of an apparent injury.

Question:

Ronnie,

I picked up Brandon Lloyd (SF) a few weeks ago, and due to the change in quarterback this past week (from Tim Rattay to Alex Smith) his value has dropped significantly. I was looking to pick up Antonio Bryant to replace Brandon Lloyd. He seems to have very favorable matchups and with Braylon Edwards sidelined (at least temporarily) should have the ball thrown his way a lot. In my league we pick up available free agents and do not trade between teams. He would be my 4th receiver, I already have a solid receiving unit with Plaxico Burress, Terry Glenn, and Steve Smith, and would use Bryant during bye weeks and in case of injury.

Response:

His value is down and with the core of receivers you have, i wouldn't worry about that position at all. Burress has already had his bye week and Smith (week #7) and Glenn's(week #9) bye weeks do not fall on the same week.

How many receivers can you start anyway?

Sincerely, Ronnie Keesee
