Fantasy Football Question?????

Fantasy Football Question:

Ronnie,

My fantasy defense (Carolina) has been underachieving so far this season. The top Defenses (going by their fantasy points to date) that are available in my league include:

Denver (42pts)
San Fran. (42 pts)
NY Giants (40 pts)
Jacksonville (37 pts)

I would like to use just one roster spot on defense for as much of the season as possible, so how soon their bye week is would play a role in my choice.

Right now I'm thinking about sticking with Carolina for one more week (Arizona) and then picking up the Giants who will be past their bye after this week.

Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks

Phillip (California Kid)

Response:

The Panthers like most teams have suffered their fair share of injuries. With the loss of defensive Pro-bowler Jenkins, it has been very appearant that that loss alone has caused a gapping hole in the middle. Jacksonville Jaguars may have the best matchups with regards to the remaining schedule.

Denver Broncos and N.Y. Giants schedule only gets tougher. I am leary of any team that gives up as many points as the s.f. 49er's; eventhough, they seem to score pretty well on special teams and by creating turnovers.
The Denver Broncos defense have been hot especially at home. The Jaguars are third overall in total defense and with the remaining cupcake schedule they should be one of the better scoring fantasy football defenses.

Sincerely, Ronnie Keesee
