Week 8 Announcement

Announcement:
Unfortunately, there won't be a Start, Bench, and Sleeper article this week, due to personal reasons (I've had no time, having just finished an 8 hour test). I'll make up for it next week with some good stuff, so be on the look out.

Q: Trade Question
Kevin Jones and LJ Smith for Dunn and Crumpler.
we start 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR 1TE 1K 5 IDP

A: Jones will net you about the same, if not more, FF points than Dunn because of the amount of balls he catches. Does your league allow points for pass catching backs? That is the key to winning most leagues - get the backs who see a lot of action. I know in the yahoo league I'm in, Jones tears it up every week, because he is averaging like 50 receiving yards every week. Hell, even this past week he got like 25 points and he didn't tear it up on the ground. Dunn is a good runner, but it's easy to shut down their run game and force them to pass.

LJ Smith is a stud. He's a top TE this year and sees a lot of action. He's got more receptions this year (though Crump's 3 TD game was a fluke that won't happen again this season) and he's got a much more reliable QB.

Personally, I would take the trade.

Q: Amani Toomer or Braylon Edwards?
A: Toomer stinks. The Giants are passing quite a bit (controlling the clock more than anything) but Toomer isn't getting more than 4 looks a game, tops. His 2 TD 100+ yard game was a fluke. Sharing with Plax, Shockey, and Barber doesn't help.

Edwards all the way. He's the best WR in the Browns offense, gets ~10 looks a game...even though Frye is on his back faster than he can throw the ball.
As far as Edwards is concerned...you can't blame him. He was matching up on Champ Bailey and the rest of his offense was getting owned by one of the top defenses in the league. This week he should do MUCH better against the Jets.

Q:
Do you think Chris Henry will actually play this week?
A:
I imagine Henry will be in the mix, but not a whole lot. TJ is starting to get more and more catches, though. Henry has, historically, been a big part of the Cinci offense and puts up numbers comparable to TJ.

This week is entirely up to Marv and co...considering Perry is back from his injury and is seeing some catches out of the backfield.

By the way, Chad Johnson already said he would shave his head if DeAngelo Hall shuts him down. Both are huge smack talkers, but I expect Johnson to tear it up this week.
