Fantasy Football Question ?????

Question:

Ronnie, I was wondering about what the second half of the season may hold for a few players; Rudi Johnson (CIN), Terry Glenn (DAL), Mushin Muhommed (CHI) and Antonio Gates. Any thoughts?? Thanks

Response:

First, let me answer the easy one. Antonio Gates has now taken over as the elite tight end in the league - sorry Tony!!!. He's a must start regardless of matchups.

Mushin Muhammad was a fantasy stud last year but this year, he has kyle orton at qb...ouch!! he scored in week #8 against a depleted Lions secondary. His schedule has the packers twice and the saints but unless your slim at wide receiver keep the ex-spartan on the bench. He's only gotten into the endzone twice and only averages 55 yards receiving a game.

Rudi Johnson has been somewhat of a disappointment all year long. His schedule gets tough over the next 5 weeks including his bye week in week #10 but lightens up with the browns, lions and bills. Except for week #1, he has yet to eclipse the century mark. He has only 2 total touchdowns. One of the problems i have noticed is that he has yet to show Carson that he can be a reliable receiver out of the back field. He's a nice #2 back but no more than that right now. Play him on favorable matchups but hold off and play that stud S.Jackson (love the advice last week - hope you took it).

Terry Glenn has had one good week in the last 5 games. Has he hit the wall, maybe?? His age is a concern but not a detriment, yet. His schedule doesn't get any easier. he's still bledsoe's main target. His bye week is this week, this should help him get his leg strength back if only for a week. Injury to Patrick Crayton will only help Genn. Watch for the amount of catches. If they go down, beware. If they remain steady then so shall his starts. Also take into the account the hobbled Julius Jones. Marion Barber has filled in nice for Jones, but the threat of a legitimate running game would also go far to help the passing game - 10 yards at a time.

Sincerely, Ronnie Keesee
